Sinopec Green Energy Geothermal Development Co., Ltd. (“SGE”), is a joint venture established by Sinopec Star and Arctic Green in 2006 on geothermal development and utilization.

SGE is the largest, fastest growing and most technically advanced geothermal enterprise in China, with a total installed geothermal direct utilization capacity of 4GW and an accumulated GHG emission savings of 24 million tonnes. Not only is SGE a geothermal demonstration enterprise of the Ministry of Natural Resources and National Energy Administration of China, its geothermal operations in Xiong’an New Area, China, have also been recognized by International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) as a global showcase for city energy transition.
