Bangley Quarry Biogas is an anaerobic digestion (AD) plant situated in East Lothian, Scotland. Anaerobic Digestion converts organic materials such as manure and energy crops into renewable gas.
The plant is currently under construction and due for completion in 2024 and when operational will produce 1,100m3/hr biomethane. This will be more than enough gas to supply the nearby town of Haddington (population around 10,000).
Bangley Quarry Biogas is jointly owned by GFD – one of the most experienced project developers in the renewable gas market in the UK and Ireland, and SWEN Capital Partners a leading European source of investment in private equity projects.
