Great Bear Carbon Credit Limited Partnership (GBCCC LP) operates under the Great Bear Business Corporation (GBBC)—a unique alliance of seven First Nations on British Columbia’s North and Central Coast and Haida Gwaii. These Nations were instrumental in shaping the landmark Great Bear Rainforest Agreements with the Province of British Columbia.
GBCCC LP markets and sells high-integrity carbon offsets owned by these Nations, with revenues reinvested into Indigenous-led stewardship and ecosystem-based management. This model supports ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable resource management across the region.
All projects are validated under British Columbia’s Forest Carbon Offset Protocol (FCOP), listed on the BC Carbon Registry, and are eligible for use in both the voluntary carbon market and the BC Output-Based Pricing System (OBPS). These forest-based offsets reduce greenhouse gas emissions by protecting old-growth ecosystems within First Nations’ traditional territories—advancing both climate action and community resilience.
