Clean Energy Asia LLC (Head office: Ulaanbaatar city, CEO: Myagmar Ravdan, hereafter “CEA”), was established in 2012 as a joint venture owned 51% by Newcom LLC, a Mongolian conglomerate with activities in telecommunications, property and energy. The remaining 49% is owned by a subsidiary of SB Energy Corp., a subsidiary of SoftBank Group Corp. (the telecommunications and technology conglomerate).

CEA is developing the 50MW Tsetsii Wind Farm (TWF) Project. The TWF is being financed through both equity and through loans. Lenders of the TWF are the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The Loan Agreements Signing Ceremony was on Sep 28, 2016.

The TWF is currently in construction. The project site is 22km south of settlement of Tsogttsetsii soum, in Umnugobi, Mongolia. The wind farm’s 25 2MW Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) will be supplied by Vestas.
TWF will launch operations in December 2017.

Through the TWF project, SB Energy, Newcom, JICA, and EBRD will work to contribute to Mongolia’s renewable energy business development and power infrastructure system enhancement. The TWF will also have positive benefits through the displacement of 230,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions produced through thermal energy generation. Through the operations of the TWF, there would be 180,000 tons of coal and 1.2 million tons of water saved through annually.

TWF held it’s Groundbreaking Ceremony on Nov 23, 2016
