Our main expertise is energy-system modelling and how to decarbonize. We support decision makers and energy planners to choose the least cost and most feasible pathways towards energy-systems with net-zero emissions.
We develop energy system models on country, regional and local levels allowing to create scenarios and designate the economically most viable and optimal solutions for decarbonisation. We also develop modelling frameworks to study specific energy technologies such as pyrolysis and their potentials as decarbonisation tools.
We are experts on using the TIMES modelling framework. TIMES models imply comprehensive data inputs that allow for analysis on the interconnections and interdependence between sectors, resulting in scenarios that take the full complexity into consideration.
We are also experts on using the BALMOREL model and we have developed a model of the biomass resources of Denmark, the DK Bio-Res, showing the full extent of biomass resources from agriculture, aquaculture, and forestry. The DK Bio-Res model enables you to develop scenarios for land use and related greenhouse gas emissions and storage (LULUCF).
Among our clients are the Danish Energy Agency, The World Bank, UNOPS, UNEP, COWI, The Danish Climate Council, Energiforsk, and energy technology companies.
We participate in national, Nordic and EU research projects and organize workshops on energy-planning and trainings on how to use the TIMES, BALMOREL and DK Bio-Res models.
