A joint initiative from The Nature Conservancy and Pegasys, the Nature for Water Facility is a purpose-built program designed to provide the gold standard in technical assistance to help local champions build out watershed investment programs.
We help unlock the power of nature to support water security by designing long-term, client-owned programs that effectively and efficiently implement Nature-based Solutions (NbS)*. Our multi-disciplinary international team features specialist expertise in hydrology, GIS, ecology, governance, finance and project management to deliver effective hand-in-hand support in watersheds around the world.
We provide specialist technical assistance for NbS in three ways:
1) Sponsored Engagements: The Facility offers a semi-annual call for proposal window. Winners receive hand-in-hand support for their watershed investment program on a pro-bono basis.
2) Fee-for-Service Partnerships: The Facility’s team can be hired to support place-based engagements. For inquiries and more information on the products we support, please contact n4w@tnc.org.
3) Knowledge Management: The Facility has a commitment to sharing project learning, processes and tools with a view towards inspiring the broader water sector. Outputs are shared via our forthcoming Portfolio page and knowledge management partners.
*Nature-based Solutions are actions to protect, sustainably manage, and restore natural and modified ecosystems that address societal challenges effectively and adaptively, simultaneously providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits (IUCN, 2016).
