BEC designs, develops, and deploys small industrial scale biochar production technology.
We believe in biochar’s potential as a climate mitigation and adaptation strategy. Our primary focus is on producing equipment that is economically viable and simple to operate, for farmers, foresters, and municipalities in developed and developing countries alike, allowing them to sustainably manage waste, restore their soils, increase food production, produce energy, and sequester carbon in one process.
We believe that small scale technology is the best path forward––minimizing carbon footprint and transportation costs; empowering local and rural economies; and keeping the carbon within the biosphere that originated it. We understand that’s not business as usual, and we’re OK with being a PC in a mainframe world.
