New York Geothermal Energy Organization (NY-GEO) is a not-for-profit trade association founded in 2014. Representing the geothermal heat pump (GHP) industry in New York State, it is dedicated to advocating for geothermal heating and cooling systems in buildings of all types.
Our 70 founding members include geothermal system designers, installers, drillers, general contractors, engineers, manufacturers, distributors, renewable energy consultants and industry stakeholders. We are building our membership as well as providing information on training in geothermal installation and in geothermal design for new recruits to enter the workforce.
We are promoting the transition from heating with polluting fossil fuels to clean, renewable geothermal (ground-source) heat pumps to fulfill the state’s ambitious greenhouse gas reduction goals. We work with policy makers, regulators, elected officials and community and environmental groups to incentivize this statewide implementation.
NY-GEO’s annual conference is considered America’s premier renewable heating & cooling forum, attracting participants from all over the world. It has also been named to the City & State’s Energy & Environment Power 50 List as among the organizations that are “true power players in New York.”
