The Land Betterment Exchange (LBX) is a token that creates a financial incentive and market to incentivize environmental cleanup from fossil fuels and mining operations while providing sustainable jobs for the local community. The LBX token is built to support American communities and industries that built our country by offering a win-win solution.
The LBX token was modeled after the bitcoin framework:
– There is a finite number of tokens that will ever be issued (100 billion).
– The mining and token issuance process (physical environmental cleanup) becomes harder as the token matures, slowing new tokens being minted.
To sponsors, LBX creates a highly valuable, traceable and verifiable carbon offset. LBX supports sponsors by matching them with approved projects that will be tracked using the LBX blockchain technology while also providing time-elapsed documentation, imagery, and videos of the property being remediated and revegetated.
