We have developed ÚLLI, an innovative waste management software designed for companies, municipalities, and institutions. ÚLLI provides a clear overview of waste streams and supports data-driven decision-making to reduce costs and lower carbon footprints.
ABOUT OUR PLASTIC RECYCLING FACILITIES
We proudly operate Iceland’s only plastic recycling plant, located in the south of the country and powered entirely by geothermal steam and hydropower.
Currently, we recycle the majority of agricultural film plastic used in Iceland and are continuously expanding to process additional plastic types. Our recycling process has been shown to have up to an 82% lower carbon footprint per ton of recycled plastic compared to the EU average. Additionally, by recycling one ton of plastic and returning it to the market, we prevent approximately 1.5 tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions that would otherwise result from the production of virgin materials. In 2024 we started producing an end product from our recycled plastic, containers that will be sold in Iceland and will be recycled again and again.
