Diverse Energy is developing clean, low cost, secure power plants to replace diesel generators for off-grid cell phone towers (base load power) in developing countries without a secure electrical grid.
The PowerCube 120a gives a 25% lower life-cycle cost than diesel generators, and has a 80% reduction in carbon footprint on a “source-to-sink” basis (no local emissions of CO2). Payback is 2 years depending on the local price of diesel. Furthermore, it is virtually silent, has zero local emissions, and eliminates the disposal of used lubricating fuel.
The PowerCube uses PEM fuel cells, but we have solved the hydrogen supply issue by developing a (patented) high efficiency ammonia cracker. Ammonia is a very dense carrier of hydrogen and is readily available world-wide from industrial gas companies, and can be supplied by our partners Afrox (Linde) under a multi-year refuelling contract.
