Africa requires around $500 billion in climate finance by 2030, according to the AfDB’s African Economic Outlook 2022, which also estimated that the continent will need to invest more than $3 trillion in mitigation and adaptation over the same period to implement its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.
