Launched in November 2023 under the EU-funded ORCaSa project, Soil Carbon Futures was initially known as the Soil Carbon International Research Consortium (Soil Carbon IRC).
Today, it continues to grow as an international community fostering collaboration, innovation, and action on soil carbon for climate mitigation, resilient food systems, and sustainable land management.
Supporting the EU Soil Deal and a global vision of healthy soils, Soil Carbon Futures turns knowledge into action, thanks to its three key services: a global platform (Impact4Soil), a harmonised MRV framework, and a shared research and innovation agenda for soils worldwide.
